Robinson Golf Team Wins 1st State Title
Home of Champions
Robinson's golf team achieved a historic victory by clinching their first-ever Virginia Class 6 state championship at Heritage Oaks Golf Course in Harrisonburg. With a team score of 20-over-par 300, they narrowly edged out their competitors, Cosby (302) and Langley (303). Senior Katie Vu played a pivotal role, finishing with a remarkable 1-over 71, ranking as the third-lowest individual score in the tournament. This momentous win was a source of great pride for the team, the school and especially the seniors, as they celebrated their achievement before departing.
Also, Robinson senior Katie Vu secured the VHSL state golf title with a remarkable performance, shooting a 5-under 67 to claim the girls' open title. This victory marks the culmination of her journey that began three years ago, motivated by a disappointing performance in a boys' state event. Vu's long-term ambition is to pursue a professional golf career, and she has committed to the University of North Carolina to further her golfing aspirations. As a team captain with an unwavering determination, Vu aspires to reach the LPGA Tour Q-School and is set to major in business administration and management at UNC, with the full support of her coach, Marvin Sim, who has high hopes for her future success.
