Academic Honesty Procedures at Robinson Secondary School

First offense: If a student commits an academic honesty violation on a summative assignment/assessment, they may retake the assessment within 5 school days with the following penalty:

  • Maximum grade of 85% on retake
  • After-School Academic Honesty Detention*

*Academic Honesty Detention entails a 1.5-hour detention in which the student will be required to complete academic honesty reflection

 

Second offense: If a student commits an academic honesty violation on a summative assignment/assessment, they may retake the assessment within 5 school days with the following penalty:

  • Maximum grade of 75% on retake
  • Saturday School Detention
  • Students will be placed on a one-year probation from all Honor societies. 

 

Third offense and subsequent offenses: If a student commits an academic honesty violation on a summative assignment/assessment, they may retake the assessment within 5 school days with the following penalty:

  • Maximum grade of 65% on retake
  • One day of ISS
  • The student will be dismissed from all Honor societies. If a student is not yet a member of an honor society, they may not apply to be a member for the next school year
  • The student will be prohibited from applying to SGA of any other school leadership role for the next academic year

 

Honor Societies

  • Students can apply with one or two offenses, but only for probationary status 
  • Probationary period lasts for the remainder of the school year

 

Formative assessment incidences of malpractice

  • Formative assignments/assessments include informal assignments/assessments, classwork, or homework
  • Malpractice within formative assessments will be handled within the classroom by the classroom teacher
  • Class grade consequences will result in a 0% for that assignment
  • Teachers will inform parents of malpractice via email and include the grade level administrator, in addition to documenting the contact within the SIS Contact Log
  • If a student accumulates 3 separate instances of minor assessment malpractice, he/she will then be moved to the first major offense consequence status
