1) What has been your biggest disappointment/hardship since schools have been closed for the remainder of the academic year? 

My biggest disappointment, as most seniors would probably also say, is not getting to end our year the traditional way. Looking forward to graduation, prom, and all the other events acted as a coping mechanism to keep the motivation strong when nothing else seemed to be working. My biggest hardship since schools have closed has probably been adjusting to not going back to Robinson. When the decision was made to close school for the rest of the year it felt as if time had shifted forward very quickly. I essentially began to move on and think about college but at the same time, college was not something I was ready for.

2) What are your plans for the fall?  

This fall I will be attending Carnegie Mellon University. I was accepted into their engineering program, and I hope to apply to their engineering and arts program in order to study both chemical engineering and music.

3) How have your plans changed, if at all? 

My plans for this fall have not really changed. I’ve given a little bit of thought to the possibility of fall semester being online, but I try not to think about it.

4) What is your passion? 

I like to create things whether it be music, food, or a new Mario Kart^TM high score. I think that’s why being an engineer sounds so appealing.

5) Have you discovered a new passion in light of social distancing? 

I don’t think that I have discovered any new passions, but I have rekindled some old ones. Once I got to high school, my passion for baking took a backseat to all my schoolwork and extracurriculars. However, since quarantine has started, I have started to cook once again.

6) What are your hopes for the future? 

This is fairly basic, but my hope for the future is finding a job as well as a community that makes me look forward to each and every day.

7) Is there anything else you’d like us to know about you? 

Fun fact: Last year after I won states, I was ranked third in the U.S. for girls triple jump for a day before I was bumped down. This season I ended in 10th.

8) What are you most proud of about your school experience/best memory? 

I have the upperclassmen who came before me to thank for where I am now, so I am proud of the fact that I was able to help out the younger grades just like I was helped out. My best memory is the marching band senior night. Every year it’s always a fun day, and finally having my go at it was the icing on the cake.
