International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme

At Robinson Secondary School, all students are empowered with the academic, social, and ethical knowledge and skills to be well-rounded citizens ready for life beyond high school. Parents, staff and students appreciate the strong sense of community evident in the school, as well as the "Ram values." Open communication based on understanding and respect amongst all community members is the norm in the      school. The IB MYP programme has the ultimate goal to have all students share their growth in specific skills through a formal presentation of learning experience. Four students were named National Merit Semifinalist for 2025 and 24 were commended.

Rambassadors student ambassador program

Rambassadors welcome all new Rams to Robinson Secondary School. Whether they are arriving as part of a recent move as a military-connected student or have arrived from abroad, Rambassadors will meet new students in person, give them a tour of the school, and give them a new student swag bag. They also help with orientation and Ram Rally, back to school nights, a new student breakfast, and military appreciation breakfast. The first two days of school they wear Rambassador T-shirts so students can find them if they have questions. 

Three Special Olympics/Partnership Class

Robinson students participate in Unified Special Olympics programs, taking part in Soccer, Track & Field, and Basketball as both a Special Olympics Traditional and Unified teams for Middle and High School students.  Robinson Partnership is an inclusive class at Robinson Secondary School. The class runs as an elective for 10th-12th graders from across Robinson programs. In class we work on large school events that promote inclusion while learning about disabilities and advocating, having fun, and making lasting friendships!

2024 FCPS Individual Excellence Award and 2024 FCPS Team Excellence Award

Holli Selman was selected to receive a 2024 FCPS Individual Excellence Award and Kristin Webster was selected to receive a 2024 FCPS Team Excellence Award. This honor recognizes and celebrates their commitment to serve FCPS with the highest degree of dedication and professionalism.  

Percentage of staff who are alumni

The Robinson community is tight-knit. Many teachers and staff members have returned to the school since graduating from it. This school year, there are 30 alumni currently employed at Robinson. 

Purple Star

Robinson, which is named after Medal of Honor recipient Sgt. James W. Robinson, is proud to to be recognized as a Virginia Distinguished Purple Star School for supporting military-connected students.

Alumni Success

Robinson has a number of famous alumni who’ve achieved success. NASA Astronaut Kjell Lindgren has visited the school a number of times, and even called students from space!   

NineStudents Excel

Students at Robinson excel in many different areas. In 2024, there are 12 students who were selected for Senior Regional Orchestra. The co-ed golf team won the regional tournament, and a Robinson student took home a Cappie Award, the Tony Award of the DC region’s high school theater.
