Robinson SS Music Assessment Results 2022
Chorus
Over the weekend of March 18th - 20th, the Robinson Singers, Bella Voce and Middle School Treble Chorus participated in chorus performance assessment. Most of the students never experienced concert assessment and Mr Horanski was so proud of the way they prepared and performed. It was an absolute joy to see the students shine and the pride they had in their performance.
Each ensemble earned a superior rating in sight-reading. Robinson Singers and the Middle School Chorus earned a Superior straight superior performance rating, and Bella Voce an overall excellent performance rating.
Witnessing the genuine excitement of the students as they prepared and to have the opportunity to perform again was so very rewarding. Their excitement and smiles said it all.
Band
Mrs. Einuis share that both the MS Symphonic and Concert Band members for earned straight superior ratings at the District Band Assessment held at Katherine Johnson Middle School over the weekend of March 18th - 20th. Students performed three graded selections on stage and participated in sight-reading. Some written comments received from the four judges included:
- “Beautiful, full, focused, consistent and controlled tone quality throughout the band”
- “Excellent in all areas”
- “Incredibly musical, you brought these pages of music to life, bravo!”
As always, THANK YOU for your support of music here at Robinson.
Mr Loft and Ms. Dever shared that our Robinson Bands as Symphonic Band attended concert assessment on Saturday, March 5th. With a straight superior rating for the Robinson Symphonic Band. James W. Robinson Secondary School is a Virginia Honor Band for the 32nd year. This distinction is a direct result of their hard work to earn a superior rating in the fall with the Marching Rams and now at concert assessment. In addition, our Concert Band 4 was rated Superior and Concert Band 3 rated Excellent. We are so very proud of them. Thank you for your support of these talented students!!! This is truly an exciting accolade.
With Pride!!!
Orchestra
The Robinson Orchestra members participated in their assessments over the weekend of March 24th - 26th. Our Chamber Sinfonia earned an Excellent rating and our Concert and Philharmonic Orchestras earned straight Superior ratings. All students are to be commended for their dedicated and focused work in preparation for this event. Thank you faculty and staff for your support of our Orchestra students.
