I am excited to announce our Robinson IB Film podcast Cut For Time podcast.  The IB Film Studies II students (Fionn McCabe, Hailey Marsaw, Dan Kim, Sammie Macaranas, Liz Hiltz, Isaac Liu, Collin Perry, and Ali Adams) discuss, debate, and dive into the movies.

Episode 2 is our Valentine’s Day Special.

This episode has 5 segments:

• Term Table: Listeners will learn a film technique.  This month the term is Meet Cute, a staple term in the genre of rom-com.
• Cut Throat Quotes: Listeners are challenged to guess the movie quotes from these films that focus on Valentine’s Day and all things love.
• Decaying Potatoes:  4 films now out in theatres will be reviewed using our completely “original” rating scale; 1 being totally rotten and 5 being wonderfully delicious. The 4 films reviewed in this episode will be A Man Called Otto directed by Marc Forster and starring Tom Hanks (reviewed by Fionn McCabe), Decision to Leave  directed by Park Chan-wook and starring Park Hae-il and Tang Wei (reviewed by Dan Kim), Puss in Boots: The Last Wish directed by Joel Crawford and starring Antonio Banderas (reviewed by Ali Adams), and M3gan directed by Gerard Johnstone and starring Violet McGraw and Amie Donald (Reviewed by Sammie Macaranas).
• Seasons Screenings: In this segment, Cut for Time will recommend movies to watch on Valentine’s Day.
• Face Off: Amid the 25th anniversary of Titanic, Cut for Time will attempt to settle the longstanding debate once and for all: whether Leonardo DiCaprio’s Jack could have fit on that door and survived.
