On Friday, October 22nd 2021, Robinson Secondary School recognized the seniors below, who have been named as National Merit Commended Scholars! These students’ Selection Index scores placed them among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2022 National Merit Program by taking the 2020 PSAT. They are among about 34,000 Commended Students nationwide who have shown exceptional academic promise. .  Associate Principal, Ann Wong, welcomed families, staff and recipients with the following words.

national-merit-recipients-small-groupGood morning families, staff, and National Merit Recognition Program Recipients! My name is Ann Wong, the Associate Principal. I want to take a moment to thank our string quartet for providing entertainment and setting the tone for this wonderful event.  On behalf of Principal Phillips and myself, I welcome you all as we celebrate the achievements of these talented individuals.  The academic prowess demonstrated by these young adults deserves recognition when you think about how they got here. Of the approximate 1.5 million entrants who take the PSATs, 50,000 are recognized nationally for their scores earned and have earned recognition as Commended Scholars and from the 50,000, the top 16,000 qualify as Semifinalists. We also have students here who have met rigorous eligibility standards to receive other honors within the Merit Recognition Program.  Students, please take a moment and look out into the crowd to the faces of those who are smiling with pride behind those masks.  We are all proud of you and hope you use this honor as fuel to motivate you to set those goals for yourself to continue to do great things.   I congratulate you all for your efforts and talents that led to these wonderful accomplishments.  At this time I would like to introduce Mr. Travis Hess, HS Director of Student Services.
